You can learn how people got started in the career you aspire to what pitfalls to avoid and maybe even who to network with. They recently interviewed me and featured me on the site. If you know the popular radio host Michael Baisden then you can imagine the fantastic energy on the set of his current film project. I can’t give away any secrets but it was a great experience.

Yesterday we made a tiny bit of urban media personal history as I visited the famously controversial Star and Bucwild Show on Shovio.com. The show that brands itself the ultimate hatefest hosted by the ultimate hater was all love.After Star interviewed me along with Kristal the Texas Dread I even presented him with a gift for his girlfriend.

Abiola: First of all Renae, I love everything that you are doing. Thank you for introducing me to your readers! I am an Author, Media Personality, and a Sex & Relationships Columnist. I have hosted TV shows for networks like BET, NBC and HBO, played Miss Picky on VH1’s Tough Love. I also appear as a pop culture talking head correspondent on networks like FOX and interview celebrities like Chris Rock and intellectuals like Skip Gates.
Shovio, the two way TV radio broadcast network was co-founded by pioneer Leslie Gold, also known as The Radio Chick. Shovio takes live online broadcasts one step further than U-stream by allowing audience members to chat with hosts on video with a Skype-like service. The new Shovio.com network boasts a roster of top professional broadcasters and personalities in addition to the Radio Chick such as Don Imus sidekick Karith Foster and comic radio bad boy duo Star & Buc Wild.
Media Personality Abiola Abrams (formerly of VH1’s Tough Love and BET’s The Best Shorts) will join the roster on May 12, 2010 with a weekly show in the Wednesday 10pm slot. The show is tentatively titled “xo, Abiola; Kiss & Tell TV Radio on your dot com dial,” and will feature heavy audience interaction, sexperts, celebrity relationship news, adult toy giveaways, and clips from Abiola’s award-winning bi-weekly web series Kiss & Tell TV.
Look for Abiola Abrams on “xo, Abiola; Kiss & Tell TV radio” weekly on Wednesdays from 10-11pm EST beginning May 12th on Shovio.
